Tannum Sands is a small locality located in Queensland
History[]
The Area around present-day Tannum Sands was originally known as Wild Cattle Creek and had been a fishing place for the residents of Boyne Island. But it was inaccessible and so not settlements were made there. The town was named Tannum when sunburnt children returned from a picnic by the beach and made a comment that the QLD land Department liked. The town got the name Tannum Sands in 1951

- Coconet Classic: Originally named the Kiteboarding Titles, it is a Kiteboarding competiton, due to the growing popularity in the region.
